Out of the mystery, this is how it begins. Using my senses and using my supersenses, I know you would illuminate us, Changing Angel of Tomorrow, Oh, if you could… “Gimme a minute, I’m just about to get real…” Invisible voices whisper in the field, my ears are as big as satellites. I call you now, guide me back to One Mind! I know you would illuminate us, Changing Angel of Tomorrow, oh, if you could… if you could… “…if you could gimme a minute,
I’m just about to behave!” The light is glowing, the bell’s been rung. The lily is lucid on the crocodile tongue! “Gimme a minute,
I’m just about to behave!”

I’ve laid out flowers and blessed this room and called upon the one you want to be… “You might have thought you had the key. You’d be right if you could see the symbols of your own nature glowing in the dark. And, looking at this world from there, be the Angel of Repair. Following it all to the root, a great Mystery, through and through.”

Flying Word 02:40
The snake is alive and flies at night, the language we find can save our life. We collect the fragments and make a whole, the magic is born out of the All. The song will be sung before we know the subconscious melody a gift. Arise! The spirit in the stone. The word is (flying wingless) around the room (listen) we’re in. Setting to the side every kind of category… (open up the room, open up the room we’re in) not this, not that, not Billy, Betty—Boop!—who? (open to the room we’re in) Blaster left a letter at the door… (opening the room, opening the room we’re in) The dog dies, the dog flies… …F-F-F-F-Flying word… The word is (flying wingless) around the room (listen) we’re in.

"Shake, shake, shake your earthly dust away. For now it is the Spirit’s Day, which will admit of no delay." Get set, now that noone knows. Star sign—don’t confuse with money. Speak now in a new language. Strengthen a soft vocabulary Throw seeds for tomorrow’s grapes. Get set, now that noone knows. Seek the wonderous sign in the everyday mind— an image of Grace and it’s Mysterious Face.
4.
Open up my eyes and ears. Calling on archetype, calling on Angel or Spirit—
To the heart I’m bound, beating like a drum. Never without Always within Endless Love Immaterial
"If a rose grows a rose then love grows love If a song lilts the air then the air is song If a bird flies high then high is above If above is a song then the rose of love is a dove" To the heart I’m bound, beating like a drum. Never without Always within Endless Love, Eternal Love Immaterial
5.
Stranger seeking stranger: May we meet in wonder, where the giver and the taker align— a Supersensual Sign. Jaded, judging jewel, if you want the magic woo-woo, you’ve got to be The Fool. Though walls and lies
unwanted abound, pause and sigh a breath beyond. Stranger seeking stranger: May we meet in wonder, where the giver and the taker align— a Supersensual Sign. Pause and sigh a breath beyond.

One Eye Now 02:33
What you cling to clouds the glass. Can’t see future, can’t see past. Keep on moving on the Spiral Path. No more this, no more that— I’m looking out of One Eye now. One is the seed.
One is the flower. One is the lover who gardens the hour. Spirit is the Desire of Love. No more this, no more that— I’m looking out of One Eye now.

Matty [Matilda] Gage, a mother to us all. She bit the apple, and she re-wrote the Fall. She never died, she was born to the call. Born to the call Johnny Appleseed ripped it from the book of a Swiss who went to Heaven and had a look— Angels singing in colorful sound. Colorful Sound

This is the Art Knock on the mirror —a bell rings— Who’s there?

about

Turn Songs is a group of oracular boon tunes made solely to expel anxiety and invoke spirit (sing), while actively inhabiting the body (shake). The abstract lyrics and imagery are an earnest celebration and playful parody of metaphysics and my related musicological research (see, the American Museum of Paramusicology), as well as the act of inhabiting or interacting with my paintings and drawings, some of which are presented in the accompanying liner notes. Referencing the transformative and danceable nature of these songs, the album title is borrowed from a poem by Joseph Bradshaw. Please enjoy on your own terms, and thank you for listening. Special thanks to Robbie Hansen, Micah Silver, and Djelloul Marbrook.
